Ten years of footage: concerts, travel diaries, private moments, late-night songwriting sessions. The challenge was building a single coherent cinematic narrative from it all. The dramatic backbone was a sold-out arena show in front of 16,000 fans, but the film became much more than that. It premiered in cinemas before landing on HBO Max.

Reviving a cult format is always a risk. This one paid off. By the finale, the show was neck and neck with its main competitor in ratings. Season 8 is now in production.
